Cotton Jumping Triple Digits Higher

Front month cotton futures are up triple digits out of the weekend. Mar ’21 is up the most so far with a 138 point rally at midday. The dollar turned weaker on Friday and is down in early action this morning. After the Friday close, CFTC released their weekly Commitment of Traders report. It showed a 6,862 contract increase to managed money’s net long - @ 59,942 as of 10/13. The Cotlook A index was firm at 74.65 cents/lb on the 16th. The week’s AWP for cotton of 53.43 cents/lb.

Dec 20 Cotton is at 71.2, up 128 points,

Mar 21 Cotton is at 71.89, up 133 points

May 21 Cotton is at 72.46, up 123 points

Jul 21 Cotton is at 72.88, up 117 points
