Cotton Extending Gains

Tuesday trading in the cotton futures market has prices 48 to 53 points higher. Heavy rains and high winds from Hurricane Delta have damaged some of the Southeast crop, as most bolls are expected open at this point. Tonight’s delayed Crop Progress report will confirm boll exposure, as well as harvest pace. The Seam reported 10,728 bales sold on Friday at 60.17 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index rose 25 points on 10/12 to 73.20 c/lb. The AWP for cotton is 51.48 cents/lb, with an 0.52 cent LDP.

Dec 20 Cotton is at 68.86, up 49 points,

Mar 21 Cotton is at 69.69, up 51 points

May 21 Cotton is at 70.43, up 50 points

Jul 21 Cotton is at 70.94, up 48 points
