Cotton in Red at Midday

The Thursday cotton market is back down by 18 to 29 points at midday. Cotton export sales from USDA’s weekly update were even with the same week last year at 178,427 RBs. The top buyers were Vietnam with 125,500 running bales and China with 26,700 RBs. The report also noted that Bangladesh rolled 14,000 RBs for 2021/22 delivery. The Daily Spot Cotton Quotations report from USDA showed 10,646 bales sold at spot on Wednesday. The average price was 61.95 cents/lb. The Cotlook A index for 10/07 was another 75 points higher to 72.30 cents/lb. The Adjusted World Price for cotton is 50.67 cents/lb, with a 1.33 cent LDP. Both will be updated after the close today.
